From auction or dealer purchase to Kenyan registration, our licensed clearing team handles eligibility checks, valuation, duty, and release.
Counted from the vehicle's year of first registration, not its manufacture date, at the time of import.
Kenya only permits the import of right-hand drive vehicles for road use.
The vehicle must pass a KEBS-approved roadworthiness inspection before it leaves the country of export.
Not sure if a specific vehicle qualifies? Send us the make, model, and year before you commit to a purchase and we will confirm.
KRA does not simply use your purchase invoice to calculate duty. Instead, it values your vehicle against the Current Retail Selling Price (CRSP) schedule for that make, model, and year, then applies a depreciation allowance based on the vehicle's age. Duty, excise, and VAT are then calculated on that depreciated value. We do not publish CRSP figures ourselves, since KRA sets and updates them; our clearing desk can talk you through the likely value bracket for your specific vehicle.
We check age, drive configuration, and inspection requirements before you commit to a purchase.
Your auction house or dealer arranges the KEBS pre-shipment inspection and shipping documents.
We lodge your Import Declaration Form and customs entry ahead of arrival.
KRA values your vehicle against the CRSP schedule and assesses duty, excise, and VAT.
We facilitate payment and coordinate release once duties are settled.
We support the registration process so your vehicle is road-ready with a Kenyan number plate.
